The stock market has dropped more than 7,000 points or about 24%.
And it could continue to plummet in the coming weeks.
Why do I think this?
I look at what I call "Crash Indicators." These are some of the factors that I have been watching that make me know we're in trouble.
The coronavirus is continuing to spread
Wall Street slashing earnings growth estimates for US companies this year
The yield on the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury note falling to an all-time low
It's been 11-years since the last recession
Most importantly, experts are warning us (Mohamed El-Erian, chief economic advisor at Allianz said "We are going into a global recession. We are going to see a spread of economic sudden stops. The trouble with economic sudden stops is it's not easy to restart an economy. You've got to get people to reengage. You've got to coordinate the restart. The economic damage is going to last.")
