I don't know if I am a Master but I do use analytic techniques that nobody else uses.
Why?
Because if you do things like everybody else then you get everybody else's results: mediocrity.
It always seems to me that everybody is looking at the same things in the same way. So what edge does that give you in the market? None. So one way to improve your performance is to NOT do what everyone else is doing.
You've got to do things differently if you are going to make money trading.
This is one of the most important principles but nobody follows it.
Analysts are doing the same analysis on the same stocks. Portfolio managers are doing the same analysis on the same stocks. Is it any wonder that they are all mediocre?
No, of course not.
Retail investors do the same thing only more emotionally.
The key to superior performance is to not do what others are doing.
I have spent decades trying to find ways of analyzing and understanding investing so that I am NOT running with the lemmings over the cliff.
