I am gonna rapid-fire some major life hacks I have learned in the last 50 years:
Fill your life with positive stuff (podcasts, etc. YouTube is actually filled with super cool motivational stuff like this speech from Jim Carrey)
From that speech above, because it’s possible you can fail while doing a job you don’t love, you might as well try (and possibly fail) at a job YOU DO LOVE.
In other words, do things you love. Say no to things that bring you down.
In fact, get really good at saying no.
Don’t try to change toxic people. Just remove yourself from the situation.
It’s ok to really like money and nice things. Lying to yourself about whether you like nice stuff is counterproductive.
In fact, lying to yourself about anything is a really bad idea.
On a regular basis, reflect on your life and ask yourself, “what’s one thing I can do right now that would make everything else way easier?” (I got this from this excellent book)
Trading isn’t “hard,” like digging a ditch is hard. Trading is hard because it’s so difficult for us to focus, and it’s so difficult for us to close losing trades. If you want trading to be less hard, learn as soon as possible to focus on one strategy, and to cut your losses.
If you are faced with a really difficult task, ask yourself, “what would a lazy person do to get this done more easily?” I swear, I read this line 40 years ago and it stuck with me, and has helped me a lot over the years.
Be yourself and don’t make any excuses for it.
None of that was really trading advice, for the most part, but I just wanted to share some stuff with you while I’ve been on vacation. (I haven’t taken a week off in like 100 years, lol).
Ok, one last thing.
Yesterday I promised to share “my ideal day” with you.
Just to give you some ideas on planning your own ideal day.
I might spice mine up a bit. LOL. It’s pretty standard stuff.
But I have found, over the last few years, that my happiest times aren’t times when I am spending money or going someplace super exotic. They are the peaceful, happy, mostly unscheduled days at home with people I love. And my dog. LOL.
Love the heck outta you,
Rob
