Semiconductor Industry Braces for Helium Shortage Due to Russia Crisis

In the wake of the Russia-Ukraine crisis, the White House has warned the semiconductor chip industry about the possibility of shortages of various chipmaking materials — including helium gas.

Supply disruptions are certainly possible, as chipmakers currently get some of their materials from both Ukraine and Russia.

That's why certain investors are looking at North American sources of the rare gas, which is also essential to running MRI machines.
