Americans to Spend $5 Trillion on Health Insurance by 2028: Power Stock With Huge Market Share

  • Doctors’ visits and simple outpatient procedures in the U.S. can be expensive — more so for those without health insurance.

  • Health care spending in the U.S. will reach $5.2 trillion by 2028 — a 48.6% increase over 2021.

In 2021, we spent $3.5 trillion, according to the chart above. That number will increase 48.6% by 2028.

For perspective, health care spending per person was $10,679 in 2021. That will grow to $14,947 by 2028.

That emphasizes the need for quality health insurance to keep costs down.
