Mark Helweg began his trading career as a runner on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade at the age of 19 while in engineering school. When he turned 21, he leased a seat on the floor of the exchange and traded in the Treasury Bond Futures pit for a brief time.
After leaving the exchange to focus on engineering school, Mr. Helweg pioneered early quantitative trading models for a local Hedge Fund.
Over the past 20 years, Mr. Helweg served as Head of Research and Senior Strategy Developer for several award-winning hedge funds. Mr. Helweg authored his first book, Dynamic Trading Indicators; with the John Wiley & Sons Marketplace Series. This book was recognized among the Best Investment Books of 2002 by Barron’s magazine.
Mr. Helweg has been a frequent contributor for CNN Money Pre-Market and also speaks internationally on technical analysis in the stock, futures, and FOREX markets.
