Inflation rates are hopefully on a downward slope.
Last July's rate of 8.5% is lower than the previous month's. But we've got a long way to go.
We usually aim for an inflation rate of 2 - 3%.
The FED has been hiking interest rates to discourage investment and demand. So far it seems to be working. But high-interest rates aren't great for stocks.
It means fewer companies take out loans to expand and grow.
And this week the FED holds an annual Jackson Hole meeting.
