"Choke Up" for Consistent Hits in Today's Market

Matt Clark,
Research Analyst

Dear Loyal Reader,

Before I get into today’s Power Stock, I wanted to give you one final heads-up about a special call you don’t want to miss.

You see, Money & Markets Chief Investment Strategist Adam O’Dell and I were talking about the state of the market recently, and Adam brought up a great point about how investing is a different ballgame today.

(He’s going to have more insights like these in our special Zoom call later today. Click here to add the event to your calendar. It’s happening at 4 p.m. Eastern!)

And the investor that adapts is set to take advantage.

Check out what he had to say below:

The market and the global economy are throwing everybody curveballs.

And from what I can tell, most investors are still trying to hit home runs like they were doing from 2013 through 2021.

They're, they're taking big swings. They're trying to find the investments that make the most money over a five- or 10-year holding period.

But really think about how much changed over the past year and how much that really messed up a lot of people's portfolios.

You know, I played baseball growing up. And my dad was my coach and, you know, I hit plenty of home runs.

But sometimes I'd go through a streak where I just wasn't making good contact with the ball — maybe I wasn't seeing the curveballs or the knuckleballs.

And so his advice to kind of get out of that slump was just to choke up on the bat, and have more control over the bat, and just try to make contact and have a smaller goal.

Rather than trying to hit a home run, trying to hit a single or a double.

And I really, I think that's a good kind of mental image for what investors ought to be doing over the next 12 months or so. Rather than trying to find investments that are going to be winners over five or 10 years.

I mean, think about how much has changed over the past one year. How do we know what five or 10 years down the road is going to look like?

And the investments that you pick now, if you require that long of a holding period to make good gains, then so much could change in that time.

And I really think, you know, this idea of choking up on the bat — or having a smaller holding period — we're in our trades just for two days.

So if something goes wrong…

Or there's news out any given week that makes stocks go down…

Or there's a shift in leadership of which sectors are doing well…

Then we can just reassess the market the following week.

We aren't locked into positions for a long period of time.

And that really allows, you know, my readers to adapt to the changes in the market.

And these changes are coming quickly.

I mentioned Adaptive Investing™ yesterday in this newsletter. And Adam is the exact guide you want to show you how small changes in your investing strategy can produce outsized results.

He’s ready to show you why later today.

Is this the best season to profit in 2023?

Adam believes so.

In just a few hours, at 4:00 p.m. Eastern, I’ll be doing a special call with Adam, where he’ll reveal two years of research showing why NOW is the best time to be bullish in 2023.

"Prepare for Five Years of Famine"

Stock Power Ratings Reveal Hidden Industry Boom (1 Stock to Play It)

  • So passengers don’t freeze to death on flights, aircraft are insulated with specialized foam.

  • The global aerospace foam market will expand 108.6% from 2020 to 2030.

  • Today's Power Stock manufactures this foam and rates a 97 on our proprietary system.

When you fly, outside temperatures drop 3.5 degrees for every 1,000 feet you go up.

Flying out of South Florida at sea level and climbing to 30,000 feet means it is 105 degrees colder in the air than it is on the ground.

Aircraft manufacturers insulate airplanes with special foam to keep passengers from freezing to death on flights.

The market for the aerospace foam used is growing rapidly, as you can see from this chart:

From 2020 to 2030, Next Move Strategy Consulting projects the global aerospace foam market to jump 108.6%.

That kind of market increase stands out in a crowd, so I like to look to our Stock Power Ratings system for ways to capitalize.

I found one stock that should deliver.
