How the Week's Big Movers Rate

Editor’s Note: Every week, you watch stocks from industries across the board pop (or drop), but you may be wondering if it’s time to buy in. That’s what this new weekend feature in Stock Power Daily is all about. We’ll show you some of the week’s biggest movers, and then run them through Adam O’Dell’s proprietary Green Zone Power Ratings to see how they stack up.

  • Netflix Inc. (Nasdaq: NFLX): The streaming giant sank 8% on Thursday after reporting less-than-stellar revenue and projecting lower expectations for the third quarter as well. But this stock rates “Strong Bullish” on our system and the slide might be a buying opportunity.

  • Sirius XM Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: SIRI): While SIRI stock was up more than 40% throughout the start of the week, shares tanked more than 10% again on Friday and trading was halted. SIRI’s “High-Risk” rating says this is one to steer clear of.

  • Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC): BofA was one of many big banks to report massive profits due to the higher interest rate environment we’re stuck in. The stock is up more than 9% since Monday, but be mindful of BAC’s “Bearish” rating before you buy in.

  • Scholastic Corp. (Nasdaq: SCHL): Shares of the children’s book publisher screamed 13% higher on Friday after it reported operating income for its fiscal fourth quarter grew by 40% to $92 million year over year. And SCHL’s “Bullish” rating suggests the gains could keep on coming.

  • Vroom Inc. (Nasdaq: VRM): Vroom’s stock soared 32% higher to $2.74 per share on Wednesday after its online car sales competitor, Carvana, posted better-than-expected quarterly numbers. The stock sank back to trade around $2.20 by the end of the week, though. Be wary, though — this stock rates even worse than Carvana does.

While these stocks experienced nice pops in their share prices, some of them still fall into the “High-Risk” and “Bearish” categories of Green Zone Power Ratings. And if you want the full Blacklist of stocks in those categories, click here to learn how to gain access to that — and so much more — in Adam’s stock research service, Green Zone Fortunes.

Have a fantastic weekend!
