GUY COHEN’S MARKET MOVERS The Dow Stands Alone A somewhat surprising rebound last week, the Oil & Gas sector was the one sector to perform as expected. Elsewhere, there is ambiguity and inconsistency. Things should become clearer this week with the Labor Day holiday in the rear view mirror. Our primary focus is on individual setups with a safety first outlook. This involves looking for evidence of the Big Money Footprints, with particular attention to the OVI, Shrinking Retracements, and Key Levels. Here is this week’s watchlist: ![]() GUEST POST: JACK CARTER Becoming the House in Options Trading (where the odds are stacked in your favor) In the world of options trading, there's a popular adage: "It's better to be the casino than the gambler." This sentiment captures the essence of the shift in dynamics when you choose to sell options instead of buying them. Just like a casino has the odds stacked in its favor… An options seller can position themselves to reap consistent rewards, much like the house. When most people think of options trading, they envision the buying side: Purchasing the right to buy or sell a stock at a specific price within a certain timeframe. This approach is like placing a bet as a gambler, hoping that the market will move in a favorable direction. While this strategy can yield significant returns, it's also full of uncertainty. The buyer is essentially gambling on market movements, and the outcome is far from guaranteed. (in fact, it’s said that over 75% of options expire worthless) On the flip side, selling options offers a different perspective. Instead of speculating on market movements, the seller collects a premium from the buyer in exchange for the potential obligation to buy or sell a stock at a predetermined price. This premium is the seller's to keep, regardless of how the market moves. In essence, the seller becomes the casino, setting the terms and collecting consistent income in the form of premiums. There are several advantages to this approach:
So as you can see, while both buying and selling options have their “PROs”… Becoming the "house" in options trading offers a unique set of advantages. It's a strategy that prioritizes steady income and risk management, allowing traders to navigate the market with confidence and consistency. Smaller wins over time — that’s how people become wealthy. Not taking giant swings on speculative options. I recently recorded a video on how I’ve been using options to grow my biggest trading accounts. If this perspective on options trading resonates with you… AND if you’ve got a large account you're eager to optimize, I urge you to watch this video now. It delves deep into the precise strategy I've refined over decades to grow only my biggest accounts. Trade safe, — Jack Carter P.S. It’s got a success rate of over 94% and I'm confident it's THE trading strategy you’ll want to use to grow your own big account. Click here to watch it now! |
