⚾ This sh!t is bananas
The GIST: The most improbable Fall Classic in years more than exceeded expectations over the weekend, serving up walk-off heroics, offensive outbursts, and even free tacos for all. And that's just the beginning, with the 1-1 series shifting venues for Games 3, 4, and 5.
Games 1 and 2 recap: It took 11 innings, but the Texas Rangers claimed Game 1 6–5 over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday, tying things up in the bottom of the ninth behind a no-doubter home run from shortstop Corey Seager, before outfielder Adolis "him" García blasted a walk-off dinger in the 11th, his sixth home run in five games. Beyond en fuego.
- Come Saturday, however, it was all about the Snakes. Starting pitcher Merrill Kelly didn't let anything distract him from quelling Texas' hot bats while the D-Backs offense brought the bite, belting 16 hits in their 9–1 Game 2 win.
Games 3 and 4 preview: Now it's off to Arizona for a tale of two hurlers — veteran Max Scherzer for the Rangers and D-Backs rookie Brandon Pfaadt — tonight at 8:03 p.m. ET. Scherzer has experience on his side, but has been shaky since recently returning from injury, while 25-year-old Pfaadt has impressed so far in October.
- Plus, tonight's game is extra crucial, with both squads likely turning to their bullpens for tomorrow's 8:03 p.m. ET Game 4. It's truly anyone's ball game.

🤯 The Denver Broncos defeat the Kansas City Chiefs for first time since 2015
After 16 consecutive regular-season losses to their AFC West enemy, the Broncos topped Kansas City 24–9. KC quarterback (QB) Patrick Mahomes, who was playing through the flu, threw two interceptions, while Denver QB Russell Wilson tossed three touchdowns (TDs). About time Wilson leveled up.
🤕 QB injuries plague Week 8
At least four QBs suffered game-ending injuries, including Minnesota Viking Kirk Cousins, who reportedly tore his Achilles in the Vikings' 24–10 win over the Green Bay Packers. Both Pittsburgh Steeler Kenny Pickett and NY Giant Tyrod Taylor suffered rib injuries, while the LA Rams' Matthew Stafford is dealing with a thumb issue. Sending healing energy.
👊 Sundays are for breaking (and tying) records
San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey notched a TD for the 17th consecutive game, tying an NFL record for straight scores.
- Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver (WR) A.J. Brown, meanwhile, posted his NFL record sixth straight game with more than 125 receiving yards, while Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill became the first player to record more than 1,000 receiving yards through the first eight games of the season.
👀 Tomorrow's 4 p.m. ET trade deadline looms
The NFL trade deadline offers a midseason opportunity for teams to either add talent to address their weaknesses before making a playoff push or trade away strong players in exchange for future draft picks.
- Potential names on the move? Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II as well as Carolina Panthers cornerback Donte Jackson and Washington Commanders defensive end Chase Young. Watch this space.
