A Personal Message From Andy

Andy Snyder

Dear Reader,

What a tremendous couple of weeks we've just had.

By now, you should be well acquainted with Shah Gilani, Manward's brand-new (and first-ever) Chief Investment Strategist.

I hope you're as excited as I am to see what opportunities Shah points us to in the months ahead.

You certainly should be.

In a career that's spanned four decades, Shah has seen and done it all.

In 1983, when options first began trading on the Standard & Poor's 100, he worked as a market maker in this completely new asset. He was one of the individuals responsible for the creation of the CBOE Volatility Index, also known as the VIX (a favorite and regularly cited indicator of ours).

After leaving Chicago to run the futures and options division of the British banking giant Lloyds TSB, Shah moved up to Roosevelt & Cross, a New York investment firm that was founded by the son of former President Theodore Roosevelt. There, he started and ran the company's first listed and OTC trading desks.

He's also run two successful hedge funds, including one of the very first in the industry.

So... to say you're in good hands would be a gross understatement.

And, dear reader, I want you to know that I'm going to be right alongside you for this next chapter in Manward's story.

As I mentioned in my note last week, a growing number of readers have been asking about my whereabouts.

"Is he ill, is he alive, is he in JAIL?" wrote reader G.B.

All fair questions.

The simple answers are no, yes and not yet.

But I can do better than that...

From the moment I hit "send" on the first issue of Manward Digest, I knew I wanted to create something wholly new in the financial publishing world.

I had faith that my mission would resonate with readers who were sick of the same boring and, frankly, out-of-date investment advice. Modern markets, I knew, required a modern approach.

But as folks who've been with us for a long time know, our focus hasn't always been on the financial realm.

I chose the name Manward because it means "for the good of all mankind." And so, I have spent the better part of a decade tackling a wide variety of topics - from how to make money to how to properly stack firewood - all with the goal of enriching subscribers' lives.

More importantly, I surrounded myself with a team that felt as passionate as I did about Manward's mission. We've published the sought-after insights of Joel Salatin, Alpesh Patel, Robert Ross... and, now, Shah Gilani.

In truth, the Manward Press that you see today is even greater than I ever imagined it could be.

I've accomplished my mission... and created the sort of financial publishing powerhouse I only wish had been around when I began investing.

Now it's my turn to kick back and enjoy it along with you, dear reader.

Rest assured, I will still be behind the scenes, sharing my thoughts with Shah and the team. But you will no longer be seeing my face or byline within Manward's publications. From here on out, I'll be directing the bulk of my attention toward Mrs. Manward and our farm.

Again, I know I am leaving you in the best of hands.

It has been my great joy and privilege to see my little passion project grow into what it's become.

I can't wait to see what's next.

Be well,

Andy
