As we reflect on 2024, we simply want to say, thank you. 🙏

When we founded The GIST in 2017, the industry looked a lot different than it does today. Women's sports and female athletes received less than 4% of sports media coverage, less than 14% of sports journalists were women, and female fans were seen as an afterthought.

Those that held decision-making power constantly underestimated women's sports, female journalists, and diverse fandom, leaving a massive void. And that's where The GIST came in.

You might recall that we surpassed the 1 million subscriber milestone this year. And we're still pinching ourselves.

Reaching the inboxes of 1 million GISTers proves the naysayers wrong. Turns out centering diverse voices, providing equal coverage of women's and men's sports, and servicing all types of sports fans isn't only good business — it truly levels the playing field.

So after a banner 2024, what's next? We're so glad you asked. 😉
