You don’t HAVE to buy physical gold to take advantage of the ongoing surge. And at 3 p.m. ET today, I’ll break down my gameplan for you Earnings Roulette: Key Stocks to Watch as the Market Teeters on Collapse The market may have ripped higher after Trump's tariff pause, but make no mistake — the underlying issues have not gone away. Liquidity is still drying up fast, and earnings season could be the match that lights the next fire.  With the S&P 500 flashing major warning signs and the Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) skating on thin ice, traders need to be laser-focused on how key stocks react to earnings over the next few weeks Because once earnings hit — especially if guidance stinks — it could get ugly fast. Financials Set the Tone First Financials kick off earnings season, and they could not be more important right now. We had JPMorgan Chase (JPM) and Wells Fargo (WFC) report good numbers this morning and both stocks were up premarket.  Citigroup (C) and Bank of America (BAC) report early next week. Remember — banks are sitting on a mountain of losses in their bond portfolios after last year’s historic rate spike. If they report weak numbers or issue cautious guidance, it could spark a sector-wide sell-off.  Financials (XLF) are barely hanging on to support as it is.  Goldman Sachs (GS) is another name to watch closely. It has been teetering right above major support. A miss or a bad outlook could push it into a full breakdown, dragging the whole sector with it. Other Big Names on Breakdown Watch Outside of financials, a few other names are sitting on the edge. Costco (COST) looks vulnerable after a failed breakout attempt. A weak report could send it plunging toward the $750 or even $650 level. Tesla (TSLA) is another one to watch. It’s holding an important support zone, but if earnings disappoint — or if China demand looks even worse — it could trigger another leg down. Tesla already has downside targets below the 2023 lows if this support does not hold. Amazon (AMZN) is trying to bottom but still dancing around key levels. If guidance comes in soft, especially on the cloud side, it would not take much to trigger a bigger flush. Bottom line — earnings season is about to show us whether the market can stand on its own, or if there’s just been too much bad news already.  If the numbers are bad — or even just not great — we could see another big wave of liquidation fast. This is not the time to get complacent. Keep your stops tight, stay cautious and be ready to move quickly — because the next few days could be absolutely brutal if earnings start missing the mark.
