Building a Lending Business at Scale Keep in mind that products aren't the only trick the company has up its sleeve... Grab's financial services segment represents a different kind of growth opportunity. The company's loan portfolio reached $708 million in Q2 2025, up 78% year-over-year and 25% from the previous quarter. Management projects the portfolio will exceed $1 billion by year-end, effectively positioning Grab as a significant lender in Southeast Asia alongside its mobility and delivery operations. The lending business breaks down into three areas: - Ecosystem lending: Providing working capital to drivers and merchants already using the platform
- Digital banking: Consumer lending through banks in Singapore and Malaysia
- Loan disbursements: Running at a $2.9 billion annual rate, up 44% year-over-year
Financial services revenue grew 41% to $84 million.
