Now… We just had a post — freeze garden tour here in Florida to see what survived the cold snap. It is a bit of a mixed bag out there. While some of my plants are absolutely thriving in the lower temperatures, others took a pretty hard hit — especially the crops that were just about to peak. The big disappointment is definitely the tomatoes. We had some beautiful fruit just about ready to ripen, but they got frozen and are barely hanging on right now. On the bright side, the cold — hardy vegetables are really shining. I am already looking ahead to spring and planning to get some new seeds started immediately to bounce back. 🥦 Broccoli and Kale: These are the real stars right now. They love the cold and are looking great with plenty of new growth shooting up. 🍅 Tomato Damage: The freeze was tough on these. Many are falling off the vine or looking pretty sad, despite me growing them all the way into early February. 🥕 Sweet Carrots: I have already pulled a handful of these. The best part about the cold is that it actually makes the carrots taste much sweeter. 🌿 Leafy Greens: The spinach and cilantro are holding their own deep down in the beds despite the frost.
