Following up on the low-competition categories thing.
These aren't hidden or secret - they're just not obvious.
Subcategories within subcategories where traffic is decent but competition is basically nonexistent.
Getting to #1 in one of these categories means Amazon starts showing your book more broadly.
It's a visibility multiplier.
Most people pick the most obvious category for their topic, which is usually the most crowded.
That's the wrong play.
Category selection is probably the highest leverage decision you make, and most people don't treat it that way.
