How to Get Through the Bear Market

Turn Your Images On

Chad Stone,
Managing Editor

Even after the last few weeks of improved market sentiment, it doesn’t feel like we’re in the clear just yet.

The Federal Reserve is still working on more interest rate hikes, inflation remains at a 40-year high and the S&P 500 is down almost 20% in 2022.

We’re all feeling the effects in life and our portfolios.

But the Money & Markets team is here to help. (On that note, Green Zone Fortunes Co-Editor Charles Sizemore just provided some guidance on if this is a bear market rally or not in the latest weekly update for our premium stock research service. Click here for information on how to join and gain access to what he has to say.)

We’ve written about different ways to approach the bear market for months, and I want to highlight a couple of stories that should serve you well as we enter the last couple of months of the year:

  • In Bear Markets, Buy What’s Working: Our Chief Investment Strategist Adam O’Dell knows cheap stocks can always get cheaper, particularly in a bear market. Which is why he doesn’t try to catch a proverbial falling knife.

  • Survive Bear Market With Dalio's Risk Parity: Green Zone Fortunes Co-Editor Charles Sizemore uses position size as a powerful investment tool. See how Ray Dalio's risk parity concept can help you manage portfolio risk during bear markets.

And in case you’re missing Research Analyst Matt Clark and The Stock Power Podcast, don’t worry! He’ll be back next week with more stock analysis.

Poll of the Week

Is The Bear Market Coming to An End?

Last week, we asked how often you are checking your investment portfolio during the bear market.

With 74% of you saying that you check it every day, it’s clear you’re paying close attention to every market move.

That means you noticed the solid stream of buying the market saw the past week.

Does this mean the bear market is over? Or close to it?

We want to know what you think.

Vote in this week’s poll below.
