Avinger, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVGR) spiked 105% yesterday — but I didn't like it early in premarket…    It was missing one critical component I looked for before planning any trade.    Maybe you avoided it for the same reason and now you're shaking your head in disappointment from missing a trade…  Missing a trade is fine … But there's always a lesson.    So let's go over why this stock eventually spiked after 9:45 a.m. and what changed from early premarket to that point that made it a potential trade.    I'll go over all my thoughts from yesterday so you can learn the thought process behind my decisions… You don't have to agree with me…    But whether you do or you don't, the stock spiked and there was a trade opportunity there ... So let's review…  Five Reasons AVGR Spiked  In premarket, there were a few things I liked about AVGR…    The company did a reverse split last Wednesday. And then followed it up with a Money Monday press release.    And the whole point of doing a reverse split is so that you can stay listed on the NASDAQ, pump your stock, and dilute again later.    Otherwise, if the company didn't care, it would just get delisted and go to the OTC Markets.    So the company knows how to play the game.   And the recipe was there … The stock had A recent reverse split News Low float  So there are the first three reasons for AVGR's spike.    But something was missing…    In premarket it wasn't trading "real volume" — it had only traded about 1 million shares by 9:15 a.m.    So I didn't see enough emotion, FOMO, and hopes and dreams in the stock.    But things eventually shifted for AVGR and it ended up spiking to $8.50.    Here are two more reasons AVGR spiked…   Chat Pump  Just before the market opened, AVGR became a chat pump.    I was happy to see that because it took away any temptation I had to trade it early, even though I didn't like the low volume.    Since we know that nine out of 10 chat pumps fail at the open, AVGR became a no-go trade until after 9:45 a.m.  I wanted to give it time to fail or to become a chat pump survivor. If it could survive, then I'd be excited about it because those are the kind of stocks that can run 100-400% in a day.    The next thing that happened was…    Volume Came In After the market opened, AVGR had a nice push. And within a few minutes, the stock had traded 8 million shares   So the "real volume" I was looking for came in.    Once I saw that, I went to Oracle to see the key levels.    The Oracle signal was $7.18. Which basically made the play a dip and rip.  AVGR continued to hang around after the open, consolidating around VWAP and above the Oracle support line.
