There's a call you've been meaning to make. A text you've been putting off. A hug you owe someone or a voice you haven't heard in a while. | You just haven't done it yet because maybe you think there's time. | On Friday, I got a call from my mom letting me know my uncle wasn't doing well. | Twenty to thirty minutes later, his daughter — my cousin — texted me letting me know they were sending him home from the hospital and into hospice. | As soon the initial shock wore off, I immediately booked a flight for the next day. | So when I landed on Saturday morning, I texted her to let her know I had arrived and she gave me a thumbs up. | I exhaled, smiled and felt relief because I thought I made it. | I saw her name come up again on my phone and I figured it'd be something like, "We're on our way home from the hospital." | But it wasn't that. | He was gone. And the realization that I missed him by minutes was a gut punch I wasn't expecting. | This weekend, the cliché became real for me: don't forget what's truly important. | I've spent decades building. | More money. More security. | More freedom. More wealth. | And while I don't regret any of it, I always told myself there'd always be time. | Time to slow down. | Time to be more present. | Time to show up when it matters. | But time lies. | It tells you there'll be another summer, another weekend, another chance to say "I'm here." | But it's a trick. | And sometimes, it can cost you everything. | So the rest of this week, I'm off to be with family. The funeral services will be on Wednesday and the burial on Thursday. | But I wanted to leave you with this: | Don't wait. | Make the call. | Say what matters. | Hug them while you can. | Because wealth is important but the people we love are irreplaceable. | And sometimes, the richest thing you can do is be present with the ones you love. | Just remember… presence is tricky. | It doesn't show up on a bank statement. | You can't capture it on a spreadsheet, but… | …that's where the real dividends are paid. | Success means nothing if you're always late for what matters most. And this weekend I was about twenty minutes too late for one last hug from my dear uncle. | Thanks for letting me share this with you. I'll see you next week. | DD | P.S. I received a lot of nice feedback on last week's sell alert. I can't get to all your emails this week but please know how much I appreciate hearing your stories. I've passed your feedback along to the team and they too couldn't be happier. Why? Because they know they can. | I don't. | I built my wealth the old-fashioned way, not by selling subscriptions. | That's why I priced this at $25/month, or $250/year. | Not because it's low quality, but because I don't need to charge the typical prices other newsletters charge. | One good trade, idea, or concept could pay for your next decade of subscriptions. | The question isn't 'Why is this so cheap?' The question is, 'Why would I charge more?' | 👉 Upgrade to Premium Now | P.S. If this newsletter were $1,000 per year, you'd have to think about it. | You'd weigh your options. You'd analyze the risk. | But it's $25 a month. | That's the price of a bad lunch decision. | And remember, just one good idea could pay for your subscription for a decade. | 👉 Upgrade to Premium Now | |
